Miami Beach, a barrier island between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. In the 1980s Miami Beach's resurrection began when its Art Deco District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The New World Symphony, the prestigious classical music academy, presents a full season of concerts from October to May at the Lincoln Theatre on Lincoln Road, and will soon move into an adjacent Frank Gehry-designed performance space. For live entertainment, the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater hosts performances from contemporary to rock, Latin and country music, comedy and awards shows.

Retail & Shopping
